Description
A Random Live (2009)
HOW DID I MADE IT ?
With a simple program I wrote (in C -- command line, no GUI).
To create sounds, the program has a simple oscillator using one of four waveforms (sinus/triangle/ramp/rectangle) (tracks 1 to 3),
or Inverse Fourier Transform (not FFT, but FT -- slower) (track 4),
or a .wav sampled sound (track 5 & 6 -- see ID tags).
The program has a dynamic echo, so sound parameters can evolve each echo iteration.
An ADSR envelope is used too.
The program build a pattern (e.g 4:4), sets some others parameters (waveform, echo, adsr, etc...).
A kind of sequencer reads the pattern parameters (note, volume, length, adsr, echo, ...), and trigger new notes that are sent to a linked list containing started and echoed notes.
Each end of pattern ask the program to make pattern change, so the music evolve, more or less quickly.
After a certain time, notes creation is stopped, and the program finish all pending notes from the linked list.
All choices are made by the program itself, randomly.
