Williams. Prodotta in Canada. La serie viene trasmessa dal 05.01.2009 e per ora è composta da 1 stagioni.
e come
me amate i telefilm in cui in qualche modo si viaggia nel tempo questa è probabilmente qualcosa che non vorrete
perdere. I richiami più forti con qualcosa di già visto sono forse quelli con Life on Mars o Journeyman (ma dirlo
dopo solo la prima puntata è probabilmente affrettato) e la somiglianza è dovuta alla connotazione temporale resa
(anche) tramite la musica, oltre ovviamente al look. Ma con questi due (ottimi) serial Being Erica ha poco altro in
comune, perché il taglio in questo caso è brillante e divertente, e si gioca più sull’aspetto emotivo,
sulla parte psicologica, che su una trama “gialla” o su un qualche mistero.
Il background è comunque
questo: Erica Strange (interpretata da Erin Karpluk) è una ragazza di trentadue anni, di bella presenza e con una
buona educazione, che non riesce neppure a tenersi un posto in un call center, o ad avere una relazione sentimentale
stabile. E in una giornata particolarmente nera, dopo essere finita anche in ospedale per una reazione allergica,
incontra il dottor Tom (Michael Riley). Un terapista “particolare”, che adora parlare per citazioni, e che
ad un secondo colloquio convince Erica a usufruire dei suoi servizi. E così, per Erica, si apre la possibilità di
rivivere, seduta dopo seduta, le fasi salienti della sua vita, quelle che lei ha “rovinato” con una mossa
stupida o una scelta sbagliata.
In questo primo episodio, che da abbastanza bene l’idea di come saranno
impostate le puntate (almeno leggendo quello che la produzione sostiene di volere per questa serie) a Erica viene data
una seconda possibilità riguardo al ballo di fine anno. Anche se da noi questa usanza non è un punto fermo come lo
è in America, di sicuro tutti noi abbiamo qualche ricordo che si può sovrapporre a una serata come quella, e
possiamo quindi giocare in parallelo con Erica al “what if”, al “cosa se”, a “cosa sarebbe
bello cambiare”, se anche a noi fosse data una occasione simile.
Non è detto, tra l’altro che
ciò che ci aspettiamo di alternativo, non abbia altre controindicazioni, rispetto al passato. Ma il rivivere, con gli
occhi da “adulto” una esperienza passata ha di certo vantaggi, e, almeno se vissuta da Erica Strange, sa
essere divertente e accattivante.
