The Black Eyed Peas is an American hip hop group from Los Angeles. As of 2009, the group is composed of will.i.am,
apl.de.ap, Taboo and Fergie. Since its breakout album Elephunk in 2003, the group's pop/dance-oriented style of hip hop
music has sold an estimated 27 million albums and singles worldwide.



'Boom Boom Pow' is a song by the Black Eyed Peas released as the lead single from their upcoming album 'The E.N.D.' [due
for release June 9th 2009]. The song blends different genres, such as dance, electro-hop and hip hop. Adding to the
futuristic feel of the song, all band members have had their vocals auto-tuned. The single sold 465,000 downloads in its
first week of digital release [March 30th 2009], the third largest number of download-sales in a single-week overall,
and the largest single-week and debut-download totals by a group in the history of digital-download sales tracking. It
sold another 335,000 downloads in the U.S. in its second week of release, and 259,000 in its third week, bringing its
total U.S. sales to 1,063,000 in three weeks. This made it the second-fastest song to hit the one million mark in paid
downloads, the first being Flo Rida's 'Right Round', which did it in two weeks. 'Boom Boom Pow' climbed from No.39 to
No.1 on the Hot 100 in its 4th week on the chart, making it the band's first No.1 single in the U.S. It also reached
No.1 on the Canadian Hot 100 and on the Australian Charts it has already reached the top ten. Moreover, it has so far
charted within the top 40 in more than ten countries.



The music video was directed by Mathew Cullen and premiered on Dipdive on April 18th 2009. The video starts with Taboo
flicking through pictures on a HP TouchSmart, he selects the image of an explosion. The Black Eyed Peas are then seen
singing their verses of the song. While this is happening, we cut to pictures of dancers in striped suits, dancing to
the beat, while negative images are turned into positive images. e.g. the explosion turns into a tree swing, the grenade
into a microphone etc. Fergie sings her individual part of the song, dressed in a catsuit which changes colours, etc.,
etc.
