Industrial music is digressing. These days, it seems to be less about musicians having fun with a musical genre and more
of a competition of who can have the most feigned pain and anger. It all seems to blend together into one big, goofy pit
of tired guitar riffs and lyrics depicting people being maimed by various forms of machinery. Chainsaws And Children
enter the scene with this amazing debut album of blatant, brutal, and unbridled fun. From the first song you can tell
that these guys play music for the sheer enjoyment of it, not because they're pissed at the world and think that other
people are going to care enough to listen. The lyrics are refreshingly unpretentious and often satirize the
aforementioned "Maimed-by-Machinery" approach to industrial music. "Get up, Get down, infect the incest
town...In the green mountain hell they Cannibalize..." - a line from the third track, "cannibal:burn"
(making reference to the redneck-factor of their hometown, Burlington Vt) is just one example of the morbid sense of
humor found on this album. .daca., a perfected mix of Ween vs. Chemlab, is always entertaining, always energizing, and
will never fail to get you just as pissed off (if no more so) than a song about getting your arm stuck in a couple of
