The quality of the CD-sourced books is very good and the quality of the cassette-sourced books is
reasonable.

Mostly recorded at 48kbps /44kHz CBR Mono except for
books 1,4,7,8,9 and 14 on casettes which are 32 kbps / 22 kHz CBR Mono.
The majority of titles are CD quality. (The
sound quality of the ones which are still only available on cassette tapes may not be pristine, but they are reasonably
hiss free and clear.)

Charles Paris is a middle aged unhappily separated (but not divorced), moderately
successful British actor with a slight drinking problem(!) who gets entangled in all sorts of crimes, and often finds
himself in the role of unwilling amateur detective.
There are currently nineteen novels featuring this character.
These recordings are all narrations, not dramatizations.
