BBC1 (UK) which is normally up on the net within a few hours of broadcast :-)
  
  I am 65 years young and was
one of a handful in my home town who could watch the first series back in 1963 on a 12 inch Black and White 'Murphy' TV
with it's beautiful floor standing wooden cabinet, 12 inch speaker with a rich full tone, bass and treble rotary knobs,
spot wobbler switch (made 405 lines blur a little and almost 'disappear' and the ‘then normal’ TV vertical
and horizontal frame lock control knobs... Ah those were the days. A 'new' feature of this TV was it had a built in
VHF/FM Mono Tuner - Very state of the art back then as FM stereo was still half a decade away.
  
  Yes the
sets on Doctor Who were more than a little shaky with no CGI to help out, but then so was our 12 inch monochrome picture
and on more than one occasion Doctor Who, broadcast at 6pm on a Saturday night would fade and be replaced with the BBC
Test Card and the announcement that normal service would be resumed as soon as possible. Doctor Who inspired me to
become first of all a Radio Amateur or Radio Ham, and build my own TV and Radio transceiver sets, then to become a
Marine Radio Officer, and later Electronic Technical Officer with my own sonic screwdriver and TARDIS to repair so ET
could 'phone home' from a merchant ship deep sea. To see this same determination to be better, to be more and do more
with your life in fans all over the World is just inspirational and very uplifting.
  
  Retired now - I may
not feel the same need now to hide behind the chair when Doctor Who is in a tricky spot but it has been a huge honour to
have watched the Doctor over all these years and who would of thought back then that in 2014 the whole world could tune
in as well. To see this new generation of Doctor Who fans in my lifetime is just such an honour.
  
  Thank
you BBC for keeping the standards for Public Service Broadcasting so high and beyond the reach of the pesky advertising
people who without any doubt would of cancelled the series years ago. I raise a glass now to Series 9 which will screen
in 2015.
  
  ISO File will play as is on all platforms using the VLC (Vlan) Free Media Player or you can burn
it to disc as a PAL DVD 5 Disc Box Set. Your call. HD Artwork is included.
