Description

Ever played Final Fantasy VII, leveled up your character, collected all the best equipment and materia just to realize that not even the two super bosses of the game could give you a decent challenge, and most other enemies in the game die from a single hit with the sword? Ever ished that monsters did at least enough damage to let you use your final limit break once in a while? Got disappointed when the final boss died after one or two turns? Ever wished Final Fantasy VII was a bit more... epic?

In this version of Final Fantasy VII you will need every inch of fury in the limit bar, you will need the most powerful protective spells the game has to offer and you will need to call forth your most devastating summons - not because they look cool, but just to stay alive.

This version is not the same as the one I did for the PAL version of the game, I've completely remade the modification from scratch to make it more balanced, more challenging but also less annoying. I've tried to stay as close to the original game as possible, only increasing difficulty and balancing out a few things. Dialogue is completely untouched.

Gemini's spirit bug fix has also been included.



Main features

Monsters:

All monsters have increased strength and magic power.

Instant death spells and manipulate will be less effective in the crater.

Movers are now less of an ap gold mine and Magic Pot will now only give you gold when you feed it elexirs.

Master Tornberry now only halves gravity but is immune to slow and stop.

The Zeio-nut can now be obtained, not from goblins, but from the King Behemoth in the crater - which now has some status effect immunities.

Most bosses are now immune to slow, stop and darkness and final bosses and optional bosses will be tougher.

You can no longer morph enemies into source-items.

You no longer win any items from CMD. Grand Horn.


Playable characters:

Playable characters have reduced stats.

Inital materia and armor of some characters have been changed.


Equipment:

Weapons do less damage and armors provide less protection.

Some weapons and armors have been rebalanced, e.g. weapons/armors without materia slots/growth. Even the ultimate weapon now have materia growth.

Ribbons now protects against *all* status effects which means you can't use haste, barriers, reflect or regen together with a ribbon.

You will win less items, especially crappy potions, but stealing items is generally easier and sometimes more rewarding.

Tetra elemental now halves elemental damage.


Materia:

Spells do less damage.

Some spells have been rebalanced, single target spells does more damage and most enemy skills require more mp to use.

Mime and Knights of the round requires more ap to level up. Knights of the round also does less damage.

Most earth magic now does slightly more damage.

Plus materias have had it's effect reduced.
