Henry Hill is a small time gangster, who takes part in a robbery with Jimmy Conway and Tommy De
Vito, two other gangsters who have set their sights a bit higher. His two partners kill off everyone else involved in
the robbery, and slowly start to climb up through the hierarchy of the Mob. Henry, however, is badly affected by his
partners success, but will he stoop low enough to bring about the downfall of Jimmy and Tommy?

Una storia di mafia vista in un'ottica diversa e originale. Infatti tutto è analizzato in chiave
grottesca e il protagonista per una volta non è un pezzo grosso della malavita. Martin Scorsese ci regala il suo
miglior film dai tempi di "Toro scatenato". Henry Hill è un ragazzino affascinato dalla vita avventurosa di alcuni
personaggi che vivono nel suo stesso quartiere. L'ambiente in cui riesce a entrare lo porterà via via al furto,
all'omicidio, al traffico di droga. Per uscirne dovrà rivolgersi all'Fbi. Con questo film Scorsese ha vinto il Leone
d'Argento alla Mostra di Venezia e Joe Pesci l'Oscar come miglior attore non protagonista.
