Kostas Pavlidis

His ROM descent has fully affected his artistic career.
Started singing at ten trying to earn his living within the Gypsy community of Greece.
When was aged fifteen (15)
appeared in the thematic movie 'ROM' (1st Prize at the Movie Festival of Salonica - the most important movie event of
the Balkan Peninsula) directed by Menelaos Karamagiolis.
K. Pavlidis participated as an actor while was
interpreting the main traditional Gypsy songs of the soundtrack. The film was especially featuring the relation of
Gypsies with living, surviving as well as their itinerary within the Balkan countries.
Afterthat, Kostas caught the
attention of music media and critics. Started accompanying and working along with great singers of the artistic and
sophisticated local scene.
Then, Kostas became a recording artist with his debut album "Karavi
Kardia".
His second album followed up entitled "forth wings and fly" and signed by great individuals
of the ethnic local scene such as: Antonis Apergis (composer, author), Michalis Nikoloudis (arranger, producer). The
participating talented and skillful musicians were: Socrates Sinopoulos (Lyra), Harris Lambrakis (Nei), Vangelis Karipis
(percussions). His third album "The Wandering" includes previously unreleased songs of Kostas and some of his
great moments as well as fragments of live performances.
The unique vocal interpretation and the rom influence of
the artist, here, meet the sounds of the East and the traditional & folk education of the soloists.
