Description

 							This is a working sample of Combining both Ebooks AND Audiobooks As both Calibre data files and/or flat files
(if you run the flatten.bat file)
  in one torrent For Distribution. as both ebooks AND Audiobooks.. There are
several formats of each ebook file,
  and all audiobooks are .zab (Zipped Audio Books) files
  
  If you
use Calibre, simply use the calibre library
  
  If you don't use calibre and just want flat files,
  run
the Flatten.bat file, all books will be copied from their calibre directories into a single directory named "Flat_Files"

  
  the series is a combination of custom fields (Group, Series Name, Series Genre, Series Index, Series
Suffix, Cover type and size)
  all separated by periods that can easily be seperated back into custom columns or
variables, by other programs/programming languages/regex'es etc, 
  so all that info is always in the ebook
itself
  If you use calibre, all the custom column statements/templates are in the sample, including custom colums
that split the combined info in series
  back into seperate columns
   
  why .ZAB format?
  First
they are simply Zip files renamed to zab (calibre assumes ANY .zip file is an ebook, and i got tired of having my
audiobooks stored on disk
  as a bunch of various files... so i just zipped em into one file and had to give it a
unique ?filename suffix
  so zab for Zipped Audio Book seemed to make logical sense)
  if you prefer .zip (and
don't use calibre, just rename em from .zab to .zip)
  
  if however, you use calibre or Flat File Audiobooks,
heres another cool "trick/tip/shortcut"
  mp3 players do not play .zip Archives/files (yet), however the free VLC
player does (unzip and play), 
  so you can zip up all the various mp3's wavs m3u's etc in one archive/file,
instead of having multiple single files
  (Vlc player open source/free at http://www.videolan.org/ and in your
registry, just tell it to open .zab files with the vlc program)
  you will then just have one file for the entire
book
  
  If you use Calibre, and want to play the Audiobook from WITHIN Calibre, there is a cool plugin
called "open With", just add it, and when you configure it, 
  add an entry for "Play Book" (format ZAB open with
c:Program Files x86vlc.exe)
  
  even cooler, if you happen to use calibre and go the zab route, you can
merge/combine the Audio and Ebooks into one database entry
  with regular covers and metadata
  
  But
wait! There's even more (spoken like an infomercial salesman)... 
  I am slowly losing my eyesight so I started
looking at Audiobooks so I could listen instead of read, and then found a real jewel on a handicaped access 
 
website, it's a program that uses the windows TTS (Text To Speech) Engine and reads/speaks epub files 
  it's
called Balabolka and is free at http://www.cross-plus-a.com/balabolka.htm
  you can play (speak) an epub, and/or
add it to that Calibre "Open With" plugin thing, to speak/play ebooks in your calibre library
