  TRAMA:
  
  Tobey è un meccanico appassionato di auto e corse. Con la sua
squadra composta da amici nella sua officina costruisce auto da corsa. Bravo al volante Tobey vince parecchie gare per
guadagnare soldi e riuscire a pagare il mutuo della officina lasciatagli dal padre. Tutto cambia però quando Dino, un
pilota vero e proprio, propone a Tobey di finire la costruzione di una Ford Mustang rimasta incompleta per la morte di
Carroll Shelby, e promettendogli un quarto della cifra che guadagnerà dalla vendita della Mustang. L'acquirente della
Mustang chiede una prova in circuito per verificare la effettiva velocità massima promessa e Toby raggiunge le 234
miglia orarie. Dino non voleva che la guidasse Tobey e, nonostante la vendita della Mustang per 2.700.000 dollari sfida
Toby e Pete (il fratello di Anita, attuale fidanzata di Dino) a gareggiare con delle auto ancora sconosciute in America
e molto veloci, giocandosi in caso di vittoria la parte della cifra dell'altro. Durante la gara Dino colpisce in pieno
la vettura di Pete facendola incendiare e non fermandosi a soccorrerlo cosa che invece fa Tobey. Quando arrivano i
soccorsi è troppo tardi e Tobey finisce in carcere per 2 anni, incolpato non solo di usare auto vietate ma anche
dell'omicidio di Pete. Uscito dal carcere ovviamente Tobey è pronto per vendicarsi. Con la sua squadra di meccanici e
con l'aiuto di Julia (una ragazza appassionata anche lei di corse) riuscirà ad arrivare al De Leon trasferendosi da
New York a San Francisco in 45 ore scappando da Polizia e da 'cacciatori di taglie' messi sulle loro tracce da Dino, per
non farli partecipare alla gara. Tobey e Julia riescono ad arrivare appena in tempo a San Francisco per potersi
iscrivere alla gara clandestina di auto. Uscendo dall'Hotel, però, vengono investiti da un camion guidato da un uomo
di Dino, che fa cappottare la Mustang e ferisce Julia. Gli amici di Tobey riescono a soccorrerli e portano Julia in
ospedale. Tobey chiede aiuto ad Anita che gli consegna l'auto con cui Dino ha di fatto ucciso Pete. Con una gara
emozionante e la polizia alle calcagna Tobey riesce a incastrare Dino e a vincere la gara.
  
  STORYLINE:
