Trama

Cinque amici
stanno percorrendo un'autostrada in mezzo al deserto per raggiungere un party. Si fermano per una sosta ad una stazione
di servizio poi ripartono, ma poco dopo sono costretti a tornare indietro. Stranamente all'interno non c'è più
nessuno e così i cinque amici decidono di accamparsi per una notte nel motel disabitato aspettando l'apertura della
mattina successiva per fare il pieno di benzina e ripartire


Recensione

Ispirato ai classici
di genere, Reeker si posiziona nella schiera dei B-movies ben costruiti sia a livello di sceneggiatura che a livello
tecnico di realizzazione, una sorta di ibrido tra lo slasher, il monster movie e il thriller soprannaturale. Nel cast
meritano una citazione il cameo di quel grandioso attore che è Michael Ironside, uno dei veterani di Hollywood,
mitico protagonista di Starship Troopers e indimenticabile cattivo dello Scanners di Cronenberg...Reeker si distingue
anche per la sua emotività, per l'intelligenza del tema trattato nonché per l'ottima caratterizzazione dei
personaggi, cosa abbastanza rara per un film di questo tipo.


Curiosità

Reeker- Tra la
vita e la morte è un piccolo film indipendente scritto, prodotto e diretto da David Payne, regista e sceneggiatore di
film-tv di bassa lega tra il thriller/horror e il fantascientifico, che ad un certo punto della sua carriera ha deciso
di fare il salto di qualità. Da qui la decisione di mettersi in proprio fondando la casa di produzione The
Institution insieme all'attrice Tina Illman, sposata al termine delle riprese di Reeker
