Synopsis: For a Tim Holt western,
Border Treasure is surprisingly light on action scenes. The plot is the main consideration, as Ed Porter (Holt) and his
saddle pal Chito Rafferty (Richard Martin) set about collecting money for an earthquake relief fund. The donations are
stolen by the villains, whereupon Porter and Rafferty take chase. They nearly ride into an ambush, but are saved by
Stella (Jane Nigh), the repentant girlfriend of one of the outlaws. Before the film's six reels have run their course,
Our Heroes find themselves being accused of the robbery. Tim Holt fans won't believe that for a minute!

Personal Notes: Filmed in the Alabama Hills (Southern California, USA) with the majestic
Sierra Nevada and Mt. Whitney (12:30) as a stunning backdrop, B-western fans are sure to recognize several locations.
Such as The Anchor Ranch (01:30 - from many Hoppy films) and Autry's Rock (28:45 - the cucumber shaped rock in the left
frame).  

Speaking of easily recognizable features, House Peters Jr. (Rod, Stella's beau) who spent
thirty-two distinguished years in Hollywood, was the original Mr. Clean from the popular string of TV commercials. 

There's plenty of action, gunplay and otherwise, including a fun scene (49:00) when Tim gets physical with
saloon gal, Stella. Chito also has his moments with Stella, several in fact, and I swear in one scene (10:00) I thought
he was going to wrestle the poor girl out of her dress. Enjoy!
