Synopsis: Texas Rangers Tim Holt and Chito Rafferty are sent to Wilcox, Texas to
investigate the raids on Hoyt Corthell by a band of masked raiders led by the Diablo Kid. Posing as cowhands, they are
stopped and taken to the Trevitt Ranch where they meet Gale Trevitt, her younger brother Artie and her Uncle Henry,
father of Trig, Matt and Luke, who have taken Tim and Chito captive. Tim is wounded, during a holdup, by Doc Nichols as
he is about to capture one of the raiders, actually the Trevitt family led by Gale posing as the Diablo Kid. Tim and
Chito eventually learn that all of the local ranchers are being victimized by Corthell, and that Gale and her family are
just taking back and returning what has been stolen by the Corthell gang, working with the crooked town Marshal, Barlow.

Personal Notes: This film has it all - action, a bit of mystery, a dash of humor, a strong female
lead who wears the pants in the family (literally) and an excellent supporting cast.

The beautiful Marjorie
Lord (Gale Trevett / The Diablo Kid) had an impressive and varied career on film and stage, but most will remember her
from The Danny Thomas Show as the second Mrs. Danny Thomas.

Gary Gray ( Artie Trevett) is another familiar
face from TV and film also with an impressive career, especially considering his young age, who appeared in such
classics as Rachel and the Stranger (1948) and Return of the Bad Men (1948).

Character actor Frank Wilcox
(the black hat banker) appeared in over 300 films and TV shows, however he is best and most fondly remembered as the oil
company president John Brewster from The Beverly Hillbillies.

Then there's the three actors who play Gale's
Trevett cousins - ruggedly handsome Tom Tyler who was a poverty row cowboy star of the 1930s, Jay Kirby which will be
recognized by Hoppy fans as sidekick Johnny Travers and Clayton Moore who would soon star as another more famous masked
man. Their father, Gale's uncle, was played by Houseley Stevenson Sr. whose memorable craggy face graced such films as
Dark Passage (1947) and Sorrowful Jones (1949). Born in 1879, Stevenson was one of the founders and principal directors
of the famed Pasadena Playhouse, and in 1936 after a four-decade-plus stage career he decided to give films a whirl.

Finally there's the black hat Harry Woods (the Marshal), and beloved character actors Charles Arnt (the doctor)
and Jason Robards Sr. (in a small uncredited role as the Captain of Texas Rangers). Enjoy!
