al Festival Jazz di San Paulo il 27 settembre 1993, appena un anno prima della morte di Antonio Carlos Jobim, Antonio
Carlos Jobim e AMICI è un all-star, omaggio al padre della bossa nova, la miscela di tradizione samba brasiliana e
cool jazz americano che era di gran moda a metà degli anni '60. Spiccano un gran numero di stelle, tra cui il
pianista Herbie Hancock, il bassista Ron Carter, il percussionista Alex Acuna e cantanti del calibro di Gal Costa e Jon
Hendricks, per non parlare di Jobim figlio  alla chitarra. Le 13-track set appaiono nitide. L'ouverture in stile "Melody
Preludio" apre il CD con un trio di melodie bellissime, forse tra le più complesse di Jobim, interpretate
perfettamente dal gruppo assemblato. La musica continua attraverso una scelta del Jobim classico e piuttosto oscuro. La
jam session di chiusura di "The Girl From Ipanema" è l'unico passo falso in questo album altrimenti delizioso.
