  If you look, you can see the shadow of the camera in
too many shots. You can see the faulty editing that cut out 2 hours of original film. You can see the scope of what was
filmed chopped up to what is left. You can see terrible looking parts of film that seems like it was passed around some
spring break party mixed in with parts that look as pristine as some new movies today. 
  
  Add to that some
great acting and what is presented is somewhat a mixed bag. 
  
  I would love to see the original 4 hour cut.
It may have lifted this up into the orbit where other great films reside. 
  
  But, not to be. 
  

 So what is left needed some attention. The muddled bits that somewhat show cuts removed, have been removed. The
beginning has been rearranged. Several parts have been improved visually. 
  
  Over 70 edits for this one.

  
  Now the viewer can appreciate the fact that 17000 extras where used for this flick. Let that sink in,
17000. Whoa. 
  
  If this movie could talk it would say something like, "CGI? That's cute.".
